Public-private partnership
Setting up the many ‘firsts’ in the country
B&G Solar launched several landmark solar power projects in India, setting numerous ‘firsts’ for the country. In 2011, we developed the nation’s first solar power plant in Tamil Nadu under JNNSM, which was awarded by the Honorable Prime Minister of India. In 2023, we repowered this solar power plant, maximizing efficiency and ensuring it continues meeting the energy needs. We also established the first solar power plant in Andhra Pradesh with Saint Gobain. Furthermore, we developed a solar project in Uttar Pradesh under a government tender, demonstrating our commitment to reducing scope 2 emissions and meeting India’s net-zero goals.
Captive power
Driving reliable energy solutions across sectors
We partnered with Apollo Hospitals and Kauvery Hospital in Tamil Nadu, to develop 2MW solar power plants, through a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) under the captive power model. These partnerships ensure long-term energy security, enhanced savings and a range of benefits, enabling diverse sectors to meet their energy needs and achieve their
sustainability goals.

Open access
Delivering hassle free experience for reliable and renewable energy
A seamless transition to clean energy while reducing scope 2 emissions is the utmost priority of every organization. To achieve this sustainability goal, B&G Solar, in 2013, entered into a 10 year long PPA with Saint Gobain to develop an open access solution in Andhra Pradesh. This marked the first solar power plant in the State, setting a benchmark for excellence in minimizing their carbon footprint while meeting their energy needs. Building on this success, B&G Solar is collaborating with Sundaram Medical Foundation and Equitas Healthcare Foundation in Tamil Nadu, driving meaningful impact through our solutions.
